May 2nd, came and went with out celebration!!? On our 1 month anniversary Austin and I said that for sure we were going to do something a little bit more special than dinner and a movie, and thats truly what the plan was until the night before. With the job Austin has, he gets called on wild fires when ever he is needed. Tuesday night we are laying in bed, he is trying his hardest not to tell me what the date he's got planned for us is all about and two minutes later his boss calls him "be at the barn 4:30 am
sharp! When he is called on fires he usually is gone for days at a time, so no more second anniversary date, we will just have to celebrate later. Austin did end up telling me what he had planned! He was going to make us a dinner that we could take with us on a "picnic" up the mountain and look at the stars. He didnt want me to have to do anything, just treat me to a fun date that we haven't had time for since being married.
That weekend Austin was home!! I picked him up from work around 9 on Friday night and he was running a fever of about 102!! Both of us came down with Strep throat, and we battled it the entire weekend! Bless my sweet mother! :) She dropped of sick supplies a couple of times so that Austin and I didn't have to leave the house. By Saturday morning Austin and I were so miserable that I asked my awesome Daddy and Uncle Willis to give us each a blessing.
Side note, I'm so thankful for the Priesthood Power!! Austin was able to aid my dad in giving me a blessing and what an awesome experience that was! I'm so happy that I have a husband that is worthy to give me a blessing when I'm sick. By Saturday night we were feeling leaps and bounds better! Sunday afternoon we were so tired of being cooped up that we had to get out! We drove to town and walked the Canyon Trail :) Needless to say our 2 month anniversary wasn't celebrated on time, and by the time we were feeling better Austin was back to work and we just never made time.
