Twin Quilts!

This last week I've been making quilts for my Aunt Laresa! She is due to have a set of twin girls this coming July! Her first pregnancy and she gets two for the price of one :) So i knew i wanted to make or do something special for her because I am a twin, and I know how much fun she is going to have!! I took a quick trip to Joans and got everything i needed for my little project, besides the sewing machine, that was a gift for graduating!

The fabric's I picked out were Pink and Brown, some elephants patterns and some flowers! Polka Dots and Stripes, very Cute! I started out by deciding what sort of pattern's to do for each blanket, I chose 6in squares for one and all different size strips for the other one! I wanted them to be different but the same, that's how all of my baby things were.

After 12 episodes of Ghost Whisper and Phantom of the Opera, I had everything sewed together and ready to wash. My back was aching but I was excited to see how they were going to turn out! I drove from Kanarraville to my moms house to throw the first one in the wash while i finished the other one. My sister saw the finished product before I did, JEALOUS!! but I am still so happy with the way they turned out, i cant wait to be making baby blankets for my own babies :) That weekend we all drove north for the Shower! I was so excited to show Lesa her blankets that i couldnt even wait for the shower, I brought out the blankets that night and showed her, it was so fun to see her smile and know how much she loved them! I cant wait to start making blankets for my own babies :) But I think I'll have to make a few for more before i get to make my own!
